Make justice accessible! Our Community Legal Clinics are rooted in Minneapolis neighborhoods where we work alongside trusted partners to provide free legal help to neighborhood residents. Through an unprecedented challenge grant, your donations will be matched.

Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid’s (Legal Aid’s) mission is to advocate for the legal rights of disadvantaged people to have safe, healthy, and independent lives in strong communities. We provide a wide range of FREE civil legal services to people with low incomes in more than 20 counties in central Minnesota through offices in Minneapolis, St. Cloud, and Willmar, and we serve people with disabilities statewide. Legal Aid helps our clients secure their most basic needs like food, shelter, safety, and health care. We empower clients, partner organizations, and the community with outreach and education about their legal rights. And we fight for policies that create systemic change. 

Recognizing that clients often face multiple barriers, Legal Aid provides a holistic approach to helping clients address their essential needs, making referrals to agency partners when appropriate. This holistic approach, combined with community education, empowers people to defend their rights and encourages families, institutions, and systems to work with each other, providing life-altering results for our clients and more responsive, supportive institutions and systems.

Simply put, Legal Aid is a nonprofit organization that leverages both the power of the law, and how the law gets made, to help people in our community when the system is stacked against them.
