Merrick, Inc.'s Mission

Our mission is to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing employment and life enrichment opportunities and to guide them toward realizing their goals and dreams.

Help Us Close the Gap

Founded in 1964, Merrick, Inc., supports nearly 400 clients, employs over 100 staff, and coordinates services throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area from our energy-efficient building in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota.

Clients at Merrick are finding their place in the world with support from Merrick in employment and life enrichment activities. On average, Merrick receives $75.00 in governmental reimbursements for activities such as job searches, interview skills, job coaching, and daily life enrichment activities and therapies. The average cost of providing support services is $80.00 per day, per client, which is a $5.00 difference. This doesn't sound like much, but when multiplied by 375 clients over 244 service days, it totals more than $450,000. You can help us start to close this gap by making a donation.

The following are examples of how Merrick provides support to clients in our program:

• Employment options to fit the skills and interests of each individual: individual placements, work crews, or onsite employment at Merrick
• Therapeutic programs like horticulture, pet, art, music, and assistive technology
• Support for client self-advocacy groups, conferences, and other advocacy activities
