Garden Club of Minneapolis

The Garden Club of Minneapolis is an organization for all people interested in gardening. Our members hail from communities throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area, from all walks of life and have diverse gardening interests.

Funds raised through Give to the Max will go to our Club's Scholarship Program. Since 1992 the Garden Club of Minneapolis has awarded over $87,000.00 in merit based scholarships to students of horticulture. Any Minnesota student who is currently working towards a degree and career in horticulture, landscaping, or a related professional area, is encouraged to apply. Scholarship awards are generally between $500 and $1500.

We meet the second Tuesday of each month year round inviting expert speakers on gardening and horticultural topics. Our regular meeting location is St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church in Minneapolis. In May, we hold our annual Plant Sale, in June-July we have garden tour events, in August we hold our juried Flower Food Foto Show, and host a very large room in the Horticulture Building at the Minnesota State Fair. We end the growing year with our Annual Award Banquet and Silent Auction.

Our mission is to increase the knowledge and enjoyment of gardening, landscaping, and horticulture through education and shared experiences to benefit our members and the community. 

Purpose 

The purpose of the Garden Club of Minneapolis is to encourage, promote and develop interest in and knowledge of horticulture; to conduct meetings, presentations, tours and other group participation opportunities related to gardening and landscaping; and to provide club facilities and shared experiences for members interested in horticulture.
