When you enter the town of McGregor Minnesota, you see a sign that states Population 380.  For such a small town, we are very fortunate to have a public library that offers programs for children of all ages, teens and adults.  The McGregor Area Friends of the Library provide program and financial support to the library staff and visitors.  Programs are exremely varied and include Storytime for tots, summer and after-school programs for school-age children, and musical, art  and educational programs for all ages.

Our primary source of funding is the annual Used Book Sale.  We sell hundreds of books by the bag or individually.  Our patrons line up at the door year after year to fill their bags with hard cover and paperback books, videos, jigsaw puzzes and even a few CDs.

In addition, each November we sponsor a Lights of Love event.   Patrons remember their loved ones who have passed and honor those still alive by purchasing luminaries with each of the names. The luminaries are displayed at a Community Meal in partnership with the ANGELS organization, a nonprofit that serves seniors with transportation, food programs, chores and other services.  Proceeds from the lumimaries fund library projects while proceeds from the meal fund ANGELS programs.

We encourage your donation to raise additional funds that will allow the librarian and staff to purchase materials and hire program presenters to better serve the McGregor area community.
