Our 2022-23 season is off to a wonderful start! 

The Mankato Symphony Orchestra’s 72nd season got underway with our first symphonic concert, telling the exotic and ancient musical story of Scheherazade. We heard many enthusiastic comments afterwards, including one from an audience member who stated, “What a wonderful concert yesterday! I don’t think I have ever heard a better performance of Scheherazade!”.  Our season title is ‘New Beginnings’, an apt name as we introduce our brilliant new conductor, Ernesto Estigarribia.

MSO brings an ambitious slate of vibrant musical offerings to southern Minnesota.  Along with our full orchestra concerts, the MSO presents Music on the Hill, a chamber music series led by Artistic Director Richard Belcher, as well as "See, Hear, Play," a free family fun series for children and their caretakers. Just recently our Instrument Petting Zoo delighted children at the Children’s Museum with the opportunity to test drive various instruments with guidance of volunteers from the MSO.  And in December our holiday show will further delight and entertain children (and adults!) with the charming and animated story of The Snowman.

Our symphony has deep roots in our region. We titled the 2022-23 season ‘New Beginnings,’ because we see new growth, new possibilities, and new energy springing from those roots.  Help the MSO continue to flower and flourish by supporting us with your gifts.
