Mahtomedi Garden Club's mission is to inspire and nurture the love of gardening in our community.

We do this through:

  • Providing gardening education in a variety of settings
  • Supporting fellowship and the sharing of interests and ideas among our members through member meetings, classes, garden tours, seed and plant exchanges, a private Facebook page, field trips and participation in community service
  • Providing grants and technical assistance for community beautification and school gardens
  • Initiating and maintaining community garden sites

Help us support our community beautification grant program with your donation! In 2024 we awarded a grant to the Mahtomedi Streetcar Park project, adjacent to the Depot Creek Bridge on the Lake Links trail, so that local volunteers could plant perennials, natives and small shrubs to beautify the park. See a few pictures of that project below. Also, take a look at the grant page of our website which shows some recent awards as well as a video of some past projects.

MGC was originally founded in 1943 as the Lincolntown Garden Club and has been continually active for 80 years. We currently have a membership of 84 households.
