Something powerful happens when you move outside. Whether it’s skiing, trail running, paddling, biking, hiking, or simply exploring, each step builds strength, sparks joy, and expands what you believe is possible. Outdoor activity isn’t just recreation—it’s essential to our physical health, mental wellbeing, and community connection.

At The Loppet Foundation, our mission is simple yet transformative: to connect people to the outdoors through experiences that grow community.

Since 2002, we’ve built a movement rooted in a shared love for nature. Together, we invest in our children, our parks, and each other—ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, age, or ability, can be part of the adventure. Last year, more than 40,000 people engaged with the outdoors through our year-round programs and events. Over 3,000 youth got active outside, including 1,500 students from 12 partner schools in Junior Loppet.

We also care for the spaces that make these experiences possible. We groom over 30 kilometers of ski and mountain bike trails in Theo Wirth, Hiawatha, Columbia and Chain of Lakes. We operate The Trailhead—a hub for community, running, biking, skiing, orienteering, snowshoeing, golf, and more—right in Wirth Park.

We’re proud to serve as a catalyst for expanded youth programming and deeper connections between nature, neighborhoods, and our region.
