Living Well Disability Services has transformed the lives of people impacted by disabilities through the delivery of exceptional services for 50 years. Started as a home for 45 children back in 1972, we now have 37 group homes in the Metro serving 300 adults with disabilities at our homes. We are experiencing a staffing crisis and are looking for donations to help us provide care beyond the basics for another 50 years and beyond. We believe everyone deserves to live a rich and full life, and hope you agree.

Please watch our 50th anniversary video below. Meet our founders and learn how Living Well came to be, two brothers who personify our mission and show what love looks like when care is not a worry, and the Executive Director who lead the organization for 28 years though exponential growth and societal changes in the way people view disability. Together they beautifully tell the story of why we do what we do, and why having quality loving staff is a critical part of our mission:

How does the national employee shortage affect group homes?

Living Well Disability Services has provided invaluable support for hundreds of people impacted by disabilities every hour of every day for 50 years. Many of the individuals we serve require intensive assistance with complex and challenging daily living needs. All proceeds raised from Give to the Max go toward life-transforming programs and services, providing care beyond the basics. And with a deficit due to staffing shortages and reliance staffing agencies, every dollar donated will have a direct impact on the quality of life for the people we serve, and those we employ.

Our goal has always been to bring awareness to our work transforming the lives of people impacted by disabilities. We provide critical, often life-saving services and care for 300 low-income people, all living with moderate to severe disabilities. While a home, food and assistance are essential components of quality care, we strive to go above and beyond by offering exceptional services that make their lives full and exciting.

Most of our funding comes from federal and state sources like Medicare and Medicaid; however, costs are rising more quickly than reimbursement rates. Your generous gift provides help and hope for people impacted by disabilities by allowing us to continue providing care beyond the basics.

Your generosity empowers the hundreds of people we support to live with opportunity, choice, and dignity.

WHAT CAN YOUR DONATION DO?

As you see in the video above, expenses are high, and in our case—never ending. Providing top notch care 24/7, 365 days a year, requires resources and organization. We are choosing an important goal—$15,000—to match the cost of yearly elevator maintenance and installation at our 37 homes.

Each and every dollar has a direct impact on the quality of life of those we serve.

We appreciate your time, treasure and advocacy.
