Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service

A nonprofit organization

$4,596 raised by 42 donors

Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) is the largest faith-based nonprofit dedicated to welcoming newcomers to the United States of America. For nearly 85 years, our compassionate service has touched some three-quarters of a million New Americans rebuilding their lives in safety, hope, and welcoming communities across Colorado and throughout the United States.

You can give our newest neighbors a warm welcome for Colorado Gives Day 2023. With your generosity, LIRS can continue:

  • Welcoming refugees fleeing violence and persecution in their home countries, like Olesia and Kira, a mother and daughter from Ukraine.
  • Reuniting children and families separated at our border and placing young people like Juanita in stable, loving foster homes.
  • Meeting basic needs for asylum seekers, like Ana Rosa and her family from Venezuela, who risked everything in hope for a better life in the United States.
  • Connecting employers with skilled, motivated workers, like Ziarmal and Abdul, who now live and work in the Fargo-Moorhead area after escaping the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.
  • Advocating for fair, sensible immigration policies in Washington, DC.

See how St. John's Lutheran Church welcomed a refugee family from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Please join our movement of welcome today. Make your Colorado Gives Day gift here, by phone at 410-230-2858 or at LIRS.org/give. Thank you.
