LifeGate Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in 2014 and is a place where individuals of all ages, genders, races, national origins, and socio-economic statuses are welcome and served through food supplementation, health education, and wellness programs. LifeGate Services currently serves an average of 140 underserved and low-income families monthly through its food shelf and mobile food shelf and provides food access especially to the Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities with nutritious cultural foods. LifeGate Sevices has purchased a van and added a mobile food shelf program to bring fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, grains, and other high-quality groceries directly into Rochester neighborhoods that do not have easy access to full-service supermarkets, grocery stores, or food shelves. This increases access to food nutrition and decreased barriers for families to secure food. LifeGate Services volunteers are crucial to its existence and mission of addressing food insecurity, wellbeing, and promoting a healthy community. LifeGate Services organizes an annual Community Health Fair in partnership with SAGE of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic to provide free mammogram screening for women ages forty and above and free echocardiograms.

To further our commitment to our clients and families served, LifeGate Services also partners with Bridges Health of Winona State University to provide in its facility during its food shelf operations health screening, information and referral, health promotion, and basic health assessment to the Rochester community, increasing early intervention and connection with community resources. The LifeGate Services-Bridges Health joint Food + Health vision is already bringing accessible health services to at-risk families served by LifeGate Services.
