Today in Minnesota there are over 45,000 children ages 0-5 in need of childcare. In rural Minnesota the needs are great. That is why the Leo Augusta Children's Academy did something about it in southern rural Minnesota. We created a non-profit organization to serve working families. Childcare is an economic driver for communities in greater Minnesota. In the last 12 months, 87% of Minnesotans, ages 20-44 have participated in the workforce. With these high participation rates, access to high quality childcare is no longer an option, it is a must. When families can't find childcare, they are unable to participate in the workforce and may eventually leave the area in pursuit of other opportunities.

Early childhood care and education are so much more than just preparation for kindergarten. The first five years of a child's life are critical in establishing the mental, educational, and emotional foundation upon which all future learning is built. At Leo Augusta, we focus on the holistic development of our children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional needs to support and build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and well-being, while providing loving, quality care to children.

At the Academy, our educators support the learning needs of our children. We facilitate and deliver a strong educational program. The Early Childhood Indicators of Progress direct our staff to focus on the development of the whole child. Our well-prepared teachers and assistants provide engaging interactions and classroom environments that support learning.

Our curriculum begins at age 6 weeks to help build that foundation right from the beginning. We know through an abundance of research that children who receive a quality early childhood education enter kindergarten less likely to need special education and more likely graduate from high school with skills to be gainfully employed. It has been proven through research from years 0-5 is the most critical years for brain development.

Leo Augusta Children's Academy believes every child has a fundamental right to an excellent early childhood education and the right to feel safe and secure in a quality setting. We also believe that our parents and families are part of the larger Leo Augusta Children's Family. We encourage families interested in enrollment to participate in on-site meetings with our leadership team so they can learn about the Leo Augusta Children's Academy, what we will offer children, what the child's day will look like and what they can expect. In return, we get the privilege of learning about their family unit, what their values are, and how we can be there for their family.

Because we know there is a return on investment, we are proud to announce we have kicked off our Tuition Angel Program. This program fundraises for dollars to be set aside for those families that need it most. Today, 30% of our children receive outside assistance towards their tuition needs. The Tuition Angel Program was put in place to provide a financial supplement for those families that struggle to bridge the gap between assistance and their tuition requirement. We have fundraised $6,000 to date that is set aside for this program. Parents are guaranteed a slot for 1 year when receiving Tuition Angel Program dollars. The program requires a revaluation one year later to determine if the family still needs Tuition Angel Program dollars as we understand family situations change financially - lives are not static. Please consider donating to the Tuition Angel Program. Your donation could impact a family for 1 year. 1 year less of worry, 1 year of social, emotional, and academic support, and countless years of the return on your investment.
