The Legacy Hero Hunt

    Our annual campaign helps provide veterans and current military personnel a day of upland hunting and camaraderie with fellow serviceman and women. The day of appreciation includes trap-shooting (sporting clays), a catered lunch, games, prizes and more. All expenses are paid. 

      Since The Legacy Hero Hunt’s inception in 2009, more than 600 veterans have enjoyed a day afield, hunting pheasants and other game birds, in a positive, safe and upbeat setting of volunteers who are also veterans.  In many instances, our participants have been reintroduced to the outdoors, a lifestyle they were forced to abandon while they were serving. For many veterans, their shared experiences, including combat, have helped them forge new friendships and, overall, readjust to civilian life—no easy task for many veterans who bare the emotional and physical scars of warfare. 

      The positive feedback we’ve gotten is a powerful testimonial in the healing power of nature and spending quality time with fellow veterans. One event—indeed, one day afield—can be life-changing, we’ve been told. 

      We want to build on that momentum and need your help to do so. Your support is critical to raising the necessary funds to put on our annual event. All donations go directly to Hero Hunt’s mission of serving veterans and their families.
