Small businesses power the economic engine of the United States. In Minnesota and the Twin Cities, Latino and other BIPOC entrepreneurs have revitalized areas neglected for years.

One of these areas is Lake Street in Minneapolis, where the hard work of immigrant, Latino entrepreneurs created a vibrant and multi-cultural culinary destination. The economic prosperity of the Lake Street corridor was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as by the civil unrest on following George Floyd's murder.

These small Latino and immigrant-owned businesses suffered and have still not recovered from the financial hardship.

For the Latino community, these small businesses are not just providing jobs or a service to customers - they're pillars of our community. They are a part of our culture. These businesses offer employment opportunities for other Latino immigrants. It is the pathway to prosperity.

These businesses, the families that put everything into their businesses, and the preservation of the Latino culture in Minnesota are all at risk. These businesses need you.

Make a gift today to the Latino Economic Development Center, or LEDC, to help a Latino small business not just survive but thrive. Thanks to an anonymous foundation matching all donations (up to $25,000 total), your gift will go twice as far.
