Lake City Environmental Learning Program

A nonprofit organization

35 donors

Lake City ELP connects youth with nature providing experiences to learn & grow in nature while nurturing an appreciation for environment.

Since 1995 our organization has been bringing outdoor experiences to Lake City youth. We are fortunate to have a great network of experienced program leaders who have shared their knowledge of clams & mussels, deer ecology, fish habitat and much more. During the summer we have been able to fund a trained and qualified instructor to safely lead summer activities like kayaking, canoeing, overnight camping, rock climbing, and cave exploring.

150 Lake City area youth in grades 3-12 participate in over 70 programs annually. In addition to our paid summer instruction, over 25 volunteers lead or assist programming during the other nine months of the year.

We rely on donations from private donors and organizations to help fund our programming. We are grateful for the support of our large donors that are able to offer financial support toward specific programs and equipment needs. Some of our greatest expenses are insurance and costs related to the summer instructor. As we approach the end of the year, if you are able to make a financial contribution to the Lake City ELP, it would be greatly appreciated.
