W.I.N.D. of the Spirit Ministries, Connecting Christians Creatively to Touch their World for Christ
Although a relatively young ministry, W.I.N.D. of the Spirit Ministries, including Great Commission Artists, have enjoyed many successes in the past four years--
- We've produced five DVDs to inspire artists.
- We've sponsored four conferences: Art in the Beauty of Holiness, Worship in the Potter's Hands, Waterfalls with Rev. Paul Oman, and Art & Healing with author/teacher Betsy Lee and art therapist, Katy Kinzer from Lutheran Social Service of MN.
- We've sponsored three annual Psalms and Creative Arts Celebrations, uniting art, music, and dance at the Hopkins Center for the Arts.
- Our Art Klatch group for painters meets monthly.
- Our Community Outreach team staffed a booth at the Minneapolis MayDay Festival this year, distributing 200 Bibles, 1,600 postcards, and 1,400 Tea Packets with a Scripture notation.
- Dancers and nursing home artists combined their gifts for an inspiring program at the nursing home.
- Writers from the Minnesota Christian Writers Guild and Great Commission Artists collaborated to create flyers for a local jail ministry.
- We have produced and broadcasted one cable program on art and worship. Plans are underway to continue with more programming.
- Our outreach team ministered to nursing home residents, providing special materials and ideas to help them express their hearts on paper.
- We have received numerous testimonies from people who have personally benefitted or ministered to others because of their experiences at our events.
- We have encouraged art ministries in other states and countries who have written us for prayer or information.
W.I.N.D. of the Spirit Ministries believes that artists of all definitions are called to display the heart of God in tangible ways to glorify Him and draw people to Christ. We pray and plan carefully to sponsor activities that:
- Connect Christians Creatively
- Encourage and Support Artists in their Ministries
- Provide Opportunities for Artists to Share their Work in Meaningful Venues
- Inspire Artists Personally and Professionally through Seminars and Workshops
- Provide Opportunities for Community Outreach
