Kicks Band of Fargo Moorhead

The Kicks Band of Fargo Moorhead serves northwest Minnesotans (and eastern North Dakotans) living in the Red River Valley and outlying/rural communities by providing high-quality jazz arts events. We do this via high school artist residency collaborations, formal and summer park concerts, history of jazz programs, and big band dances. Annually, we hold 14 activities that promote the jazz arts for over 5,000 attendees. For many, it is their first experience with live jazz programming. Recent artist residencies included collaborations with Fargo Davies, South and North, Moorhead, and Hawley school jazz bands. Our events attract a diverse audience base, in terms of age, race, and socioeconomic status.  One artist residency exit survey included a note: “I’m 99-years old. I think I enjoyed the concert more than the kids”. We hope to leave everyone “wanting a little more jazz.”
