Festival of Cinema Inc

Festival of Cinema NYC is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization registered with the New York State Charities Bureau established to support the development, and help expand the audiences, of independent cinema from around the globe. Understanding the challenges in establishing a career in today’s film industry, the festival aims to establish a presence and awareness of cinematic creativity, and the independent artists work, throughout NYC, Queens and the neighboring communities .

Festival of Cinema NYC is a competitive film festival with programming that consists of over 100 remarkable independent films, of all lengths, genres and subjects from around the world, over a ten day period. Taking place every August in Forest Hills, Queens, New York,  Festival of Cinema NYC promises to attract attendees and filmmakers from around the world, to the city’s most ethnically diverse borough.

Festival of Cinema NYC was founded by filmmakers who were looking to break the stereotypes often associated with Independent Cinema. In just three years, Festival of Cinema NYC has become one of the most reputable film festivals in Queens, attracting over 6000 visitors from around the world, including Australia, Italy, Japan, China, Brazil and from all over the U.S. All films screen that the legendary Regal Midway in Forest Hills, Queens with state of the art Sound and Projection as well as incredible recliner seating. Special screening presentations, filmmaking seminars, industry workshops,  and Q&A's with guest speakers take place at the Queens Library at Forest Hills and the Queens Museum in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, and are free and open to the public.

Festival of Cinema NYC has already been ranked as one of the ‘Top 100 Best Reviewed Festivals’ on FilmFreeway. According to reviews from real FilmFreeway users, the festival ranks in the top 1.5% of more than 8,000 film festivals and creative contests around the world, and has quickly become influential in bringing the community together.

Consisting of film screenings and other activities related to the movie business, the festival provides opportunities to participating filmmakers and artists so they may promote their work through press and media events, as well post screening Q&A's. The festival also offers many opportunities for those wanting to connect with industry professionals and expand their network. .
