Kente Circle Training Institute

As mental health needs evolve, Kente Circle and Kente Circle Training Institute continue to ask the deeper questions needed to provide our communities with the resources they need to heal. For more than 20 years, Kente Circle and KCTI have provided innovative and impactful offerings, including: 

• Our fall conference, a transformative gathering where more than 350 mental health providers and healers build community and explore what it means to revolutionize mental health care. More than half the participants at this year's conference had never attended one of our conferences before.

• Free training and supervision to BIPOC and underrepresented mental health practitioners and supervisors.

• Healing in Practice (HIP), an intensive 12-week mentorship program where Black and Brown boys and their parents find supportive relationships with mentors and each other while building skills and self-esteem, reducing the likelihood of their involvement in the juvenile justice system. • Grounding retreats at Kente Circle's Lodge in Hinkley, Minnesota, provide opportunities for up to 15 participants to slow down, breathe, and dream outside of the busyness of the city.
