Kanabec History Center is dedicated to preserving our history, past, present, and future, for tomorrow's generations.

The Kanabec History Center opened to the public in 1978. The museum sits atop 37 acres of land, donated by Pete McVay and boasting hiking trails, wildlife, and views of the Snake River. The exhibition hall features exhibits about Kanabec County's history, including an Anishinaabe camp, artifacts and photos from Kanabec's logging years, and contemporary quilts.

Also featured at the Center are three schools, including the one-room Webster School, built in 1898, Whittier School, built in 1904 and the site of KHC's Old Time Country School, and Coin School, built in 1898.

Kanabec History Center is committed to preserving today's history for future generations and educating our community about the events, people, and history that got us here. We invite you to stop by any time, enjoy our buildings, exhibits, and restored caboose, do research in our reference library, and enjoy the natural beauty of Kanabec County!
