Jugaad Leadership Program

A nonprofit organization

ABOUT

Jugaad Leadership Program was initiated in 2015 to create social change in the community. “Jugaad” is a Hindi and Punjabi word meaning “innovation.” The program is structured over a seven-month period, where a select group of emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds learn the knowledge, skills, and resources to become effective leaders of their communities. Jugaad Leadership session topics include developing leadership and organization skills, strengthening communication skills, leveraging community assets and resources, and strategic thinking and planning. Participants become inspired to assume ownership of critical issues in their communities and are equipped to make a difference at the grassroots level. The goals after the completion of the program are for the emerging leaders to become active in creating positive change in their communities, influencing change at the city, county, state, and national level, and continuing communication between program participants and mainstream leaders. Jugaad Leadership Program is a resource for underrepresented emerging leaders to thrive and impact Central Minnesota and beyond.
