The Judy Garland Museum and historic house engages people in exploring the life and times of Grand Rapids native Judy Garland - challenging visitors to learn about a legendary entertainer of the past, who made significant contributions to broad patterns in American history. The 1892 vernacular home has been lovingly restored to its ca. 1925 appearance based on eyewitness accounts, period photographs; as well as city, county and state archival records.

Enrich lives of disadvantaged children in rural, low income NE MN counties with Children's Discovery Museum (CDM)

that otherwise would not have access to enrichment programs commonly found in the Twin Cities play with fun, educational, hands-on learning exhibits. CDM sparks the joy of discovery about themselves, others, where they live and the larger world around them. Children win by learning with and from their parents, caregivers and teachers.

Exciting CDM exhibits are: Lake Life, River Town (a kid-sized town for role playing including- Firehouse, grocery store, music room, and doctors office), Tot Park Maze (just for toddlers), River Water Table (to learn about rivers and other waterways), Treesa the Talking Tree.

Our primary service area comprises over 40 school districts in seventeen northeast MN counties of Aitkin, Becker, Beltrami, Carlton, Cass, Clearwater, Crow Wing, Hubbard, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, Mahnoman, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Saint Louis, Todd and Wadena.

Since 2000, we've enrolled classes from 146 schools in 65 Northland communities - reaching close to 50,000 students during almost 2,000 class immersions. Teachers continually give high praise for CDM enrichment programs.
