Welcome to Judy Garland Children's Museum of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; we are one 501c3 non-profit organization executing two missions! The combined Children’s Discovery Museum and Judy Garland Museum has been created for all ages and has something for everyone to enjoy. Children's Discovery Museum is a learning through play and open exploration space filled with fun, educational, hands-on exhibits kids and adults are sure to enjoy! Judy Garland Museum features Wizard of Oz and Judy Garland exhibitions along with Judy's charming 1920's restored childhood home. Take a step back in time to your childhood at the Judy Garland Museum and come explore all fun at the Children’s Discovery Museum.

The Judy Garland Museum and childhood home engages people in exploring the life and times of Grand Rapids native Judy Garland - challenging visitors to learn about a legendary entertainer of the past, who made significant contributions to broad patterns in American history. The 1892 vernacular home has been lovingly restored to its ca. 1925 appearance based on eyewitness accounts, period photographs; as well as city, county and state archival records.

 The Children's Discover Museum aims to enrich lives of of the children of Northeastern Minnesota through learning experiences that are fun, educational, and hands-on. Sparking the joy of discovery through the exploration of sciences, arts, and humanities. . Exciting CDM exhibits to explore include: Lake Life, River Town, River Water Table, and Treesa the Talking Tree.

Overall, Judy Garland Children’s Museum audience has a multi-generation of visitors due to our two museums concept. In the last 2 years, we have recorded attendance from all 50 states and 9 countries! We strive to offer a cohesive museum experience that all ages can enjoy. We rely on support from our visitors and members so we can continue to host this incredible space in rural Northern Minnesota.
