Thank you for your interest in Jones-Harrison Residence. We owe our longevity and reputation to the investment our donors make in helping us provide the highest level of quality care and services possible to the residents, patients and families we serve.
In this unprecedented time of uncertainty, we cannot express how truly grateful we are for your support. So much has changed, and yet life must continue for those in our care. So personal visits become video chats; art classes go virtual; worship is done in the privacy of an apartment; and individuals retreat to our beautiful courtyards wearing masks to gather safely apart yet set still together in friendship. Games, books, puzzles and other independent activities take the place of group concerts, outings and birthday parties. Your gift today will help sustain our residents through this challenging journey.
Though we are adapting to the current circumstances, we must also look to our future. That means we will continue to invest in technology that engages memory care residents to their favorite past times and opens doors to new experiences. We will ensure that incoming assisted living residents have full access to wellness therapists that help preserve their independence. That we will continue to work towards establishing a permanently endowed fund for our partnerships with professional artists to ensure ongoing dance, music and art residencies. That we continue to beautify the grounds and communal spaces that our families, friends and neighbors gather in for quiet contemplation or laughter-filled family fun. Your contribution will ensure that those that come to us in need of care and rehabilitation will be served with genuine care, compassion and professionalism.
We are also dedicated to supporting our selfless staff who are the engine and heart of our community. We are committed to supporting them body, mind and soul. A number of Jones-Harrison Residence staff have made the difficult emotional and economic decision to stay home for the safety of their family. Many staff members have chosen to self-isolate in their own homes; some have even chosen to stay at Jones-Harrison during this time. They, too, have been impacted by the unintended consequences of the virus with spouses being laid off and they themselves being thrust into the role of sole bread winner. At work, they now are often the ones who are comforting increasingly isolated and anxious residents, and are among those giving final comfort to residents as they pass. Your support will allow us to invest in those that are investing all they have during this crisis.
With your generous gift, we will continue to make Jones-Harrison Residence a loving, vibrant, safe place to call home for many years to come.
