International Spanish Language Academy PTO

The ISLA PTO is dedicated to enhancing our students' immersion experience by funding Language Ambassadors, providing teacher and classroom support, and funding ISLA community activities.

The ISLA PTO brings together people and dollars to maximize our children’s educational experience and build a strong community connection.  The impact of this group’s work reaches you and your children daily via:

Language Ambassadors 

Thanks to generous contributions from the ISLA community, we are able to host Language Ambassadors (LAs) at our school. These LAs (Teaching Assistants) come from Spanish speaking countries to gain teaching experience and to learn about our culture. They help our students learn about their home countries, and give them valuable exposure to native Spanish speakers. They provide necessary classroom support to our teachers.

Financial Support to Classrooms

Did you know that the PTO contributes funds to support teacher requested class room needs? Field trip funds, teaching materials, classroom equipment, the list goes on…

Community Building Events 

The PTO throws GREAT parties that encourage families to enjoy a fun FREE evening as well as connect with other classroom families. The Back to School picnic and the Dia de Los Muertos celebration are two popular events that are not to be missed.

Volunteerism

Our parents, grandparents and other caring adults put in over 600 volunteer hours per year helping in our classrooms, the lunchroom, and PTO events. What would the world be without organized volunteers?

Value Added Services

Programs like the uniform exchange, T-shirt sales and school supplies are offered to make your life easier and less stressful, especially at school start. 

All that we provide through your charitable contributions has directly contributed to ISLA’s recognition as a Blue Ribbon School—a coveted national award recognizing schools delivering outstanding education.
