Interfaith Volunteers

...serving the poor and disabled elderly of Crow Wing County with a network of some 400 volunteers drawn largely from the faith community.

Our volunteers are the folks on the front lines. They use their own time and talents ...their own hands, their own backs, and their own hearts ...building dozens of wheel chair ramps annually, conducting home visits, fixing broken things, and supplying transportation to shopping and medical appointments, accumulating tens of thousands of miles annually. They prepare meals, perform occasional lawn care and snow removal, all without the forms, delays, red tape or strings of government programs. Our aim is the safety, comfort and ability to live independently for our seniors. WE REGULARLY... • build wheelchair ramps, low-rise stairs and otherwise facilitate handicapped access to homes • perform minor home repairs • do home visits (in person & by phone) • give rides to and from medical appointments, shopping & errands • perform occasional housekeeping, meal preparation, lawn care & snow removal • provide care and companionship to poor, disabled and isolated senior citizens all across Crow Wing County "Thank you so much for the great gift of the ramp ... Over 70% of our funding comes from fundraisers, free will offerings from churches, and from businesses and individuals who want to see the work continue.
