Humble Hounds MN is here to help find homes for the dogs that find themselves in a tough place through no fault of their own. Whether they are just the forgotten pups in the wild, an owner surrender or a poor sole with a medical condition that cost the owner too much, Humble Hounds MN will do what we can to help!
This year we are focusing on replenishing our medical funds. It has been a very expensive year and we want to continue helping the pups that come our way.
Humble Hounds MN is a non-profit, 501c3 foster based dog rescue located in Minnesota. Financially we rely solely on the generosity of our friends, supporters and a few community organizations.
This Years Cause - Replenish Our Medical Fund
Most of the dogs that Humble Hounds MN rescue and rehome come from Nebraska, South Dakota and some from Alabama. Humble Hounds MN pays for vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, medical issues that occur while in rescue and general supplies while in the foster home. Unexpected medical expenses are the reason for this years fundraiser.
Mid August 2021 Humble Hounds MN took in a litter of pups, starting the last week of August one of the dogs started showing the symptoms of Parvo. Parvo is a very contagious, deadly virus that attacks the GI track and blood cells, basically dehydrating the dogs. All dogs were isolated but the damage was done, the Parvo had spread. A little history - In January 2021 Humble Hounds MN had a litter of 6 pups 5 of which developed Parvo, the result - a $14,000 vet bill. All pups survived but the bank account took a HUGE hit.
This time around there is one less sick pup, but time in hospital has been longer. One Dr. told us that they are seeing more Parvo cases due to a different strain that makes stays longer and less survivable. The good news, all have survived and have been adopted or are in the process of being adopted. Veterinary care is very expensive in Minnesota, making the bills add up fast. If Humble Hounds MN is going to survive and be able to continue helping dogs we need your help.
In the past this has been our biggest fundraiser of the year and this year it means even more and we are asking for more. Please consider donating and sharing the link with others that love helping neglected puppies and dogs!
