Huellas Latinas

Huellas Latinas was founded with the mission of connecting the Latino community of Minnesota with nature and breaking the cultural barriers that limit their access to outdoor spaces. Through activities such as Nature Walks, Hiking, Camps, Forest Bathing Walks, aquatic activities, and even hiking challenges, we promote the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of our participants while fostering inclusion and a sense of belonging.

These experiences go beyond recreation: they provide a space for individuals to connect with themselves, with others, and with the environment. In each activity, our participants learn about conservation, develop outdoor skills, and enjoy the mental benefits of being in contact with nature. Additionally, our activities strengthen social cohesion and cultural pride, creating more united and resilient communities.

In a short time, we have achieved:

• Organized over 250 activities that positively impacted more than 2,780 people.
• Created partnerships with over 30 parks and local organizations, increasing our community's access to green spaces and educational opportunities.
• Facilitated inclusive spaces where Latino families and youth can enjoy nature without fear of being excluded.
• Participated in various focus groups to share our vision and input in the park development plans.
