Thanks to Hopkins City leaders and residents, the Hopkins School District, and Stages Theatre Company the vision of creating an arts center on Hopkins’ Mainstreet became a reality in 1997, and ever since, our focus was and is the same: building community through the arts.
25 years ago, we couldn’t have imagined how far reaching this arts community would be. Land once the home of a used car lot was transformed to a place offering international art experiences, attracting people of all ages.
Even through the last few years, as difficult as they have been, during times we weren’t able to physically invite people into the Center, we were able to change lives through art and music.
Virtual exhibitions and artist talks, recorded live performances by local musicians, and engaging artist challenges reached artists and patrons from Hopkins to as far away as Ireland.
Part of our mission is about bringing new experiences to the Center. Through the Arts North International Juried Exhibition, we have displayed works by artists from throughout the United States, five provinces of Canada, and more than five countries. Our concert programs strongly support local musicians as well as showcasing internationally recognized performers.
We look forward to furthering our mission, building back to having 250,000 yearly visitors, and continuing to build community through the arts.
PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION IN SUPPORT OF THIS ARTS COMMUNITY AND OUR NEXT 25 YEARS.
In honor of our 25th year, we ask you to give in increments of 25. Whether that is $25, $250, $2500 or .25 at the end of your donation – we leave that up to you!
By giving to The Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts, you not only support great art programs, you help support artists who inspire and engage us all by sharing their gifts of creativity.
Thank you!
Lynn Anderson,
Executive Director, Hopkins Center for the Arts
