Educating the Whole Child: Every Moment is a Teachable Moment
At Holy Name of Jesus School every moment is a “teachable moment”. Our teachers and staff encourage students to grow intellectually, spiritually, socially and emotionally. Here at Holy Name of Jesus School, we help your child reach their full academic potential, while also learning the value of service, developing friendships, realizing their talents and gifts, and forming a deeper relationship with God.
Academics. Our rigorous curriculum, plentiful enrichment opportunities and small class sizes ensure every student has the opportunity to develop their own strengths and excel in school. Our dedicated, highly qualified teachers—many of whom have taught here for more than a decade—make sure each student receives the individual attention they need to feel motivated, valued and excited to learn. And it shows: The majority of Holy Name of Jesus students are in the top 15 percent of all students nationally, according to the Northwest Evaluation Association's Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP) assessment.
Faith. Spirituality is at the heart of Catholic education, and here at Holy Name of Jesus, it’s an important part of education at every grade level. From preschoolers who celebrate Jesus’ birth through a birthday party at Christmas, to second graders who share in their First Reconciliation and Eucharist, to weekly Masses held for all school families, students are encouraged to grow in their relationship with God in new and meaningful ways.
Service and Personal Growth. The service we offer to our community is also an important component of our faith. Students at each grade level participate in service projects to show our love for our neighbors and willingness to serve those in need. We also encourage students to develop their skills and interests through extra-curricular offerings such as choir and band, athletics, and several academic clubs.
More than just a school, we at Holy Name of Jesus are truly a family. Each new school family that joins us will meet other families with similar family values, and learn about how our Holy Name community has helped their children succeed in school. Children and parents alike find they can relate to one another, share in academic, athletic and social gatherings, and experience the “sense of belonging” we’ve talked about so often this year.
Our mission at Holy Name of Jesus School is to provide academic excellence in a preschool through sixth grade school while proclaiming, celebrating and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
