Empower Our Young Leaders through HOBY Minnesota!

Each year, HOBY Minnesota brings together high school sophomores from all over the state together for a 3-day leadership seminar.  We bring in these young students not to become leaders, because we believe they are already leaders; instead, we bring these ambassadors together to help them grow in their leadership journey, and find out what type of leader they are.

The seminar is broken up into three phases, each phase based on the Social Change Model of Leadership. 

• Phase 1: Individual Leadership
  Focusing on the talents that each ambassador has within them + how they can use these talents

• Phase 2: Group Leadership
  Focuses on an ambassadors place within a group + how they can use their talents to accomplish common goals

• Phase 3: Societal Leadership
  Combines learning with active practice of using talents to create change in their talents to create change in their communities + the world.

After seminar, we ask all of our alumni to complete 100 hours of volunteer work in their communities, something we call Leadership for Service. 

HOBY MN provides a three-day leadership seminar for high school sophomores from across Minnesota. Students leave feeling more confident in themselves and empowered to make positive change in their communities.
