Historic Summit Avenue (otherwise known as Save Our Street — or SOS) is a citizens group that formed to protect and educate about SaintPaul’s treasured Summit Avenue, the longest stretch of Victorian residential architecture in the country.
Our main focuses are:
- Historic preservation — the preservation of this extraordinary street for generations to come.
- Education — about Summit's history and its place in Saint Paul's development.
- Protection of the mature tree canopy along the street; Summit currently has almost 1,600 boulevard and median trees, many of whom are over 100 years old.
- Safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.
- Access for all, which includes clear walkways, accessible parking, and other infrastructure.
