We Are Henry Sibley Varsity Robotics!

The Lightning Turtles is an award-winning robotics team from Henry Sibley High School in Mendota Heights, MN, with 30+ diverse student members. We participate in FIRST (www.firstinspires.org), the world’s leading youth-serving nonprofit advancing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education. Our robotics program encourages student innovation and fosters life skills -- including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.  

We Create Opportunities For Students To ~

❖ Build and compete with robots they design themselves

❖ Work alongside professional engineers and mentors from Ecolab, 3M, Best Buy, Leidos and others

❖ Learn to use industry-grade hardware and software (plasma cutter, CNC mill, Solidworks CAD, Java programming, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)

❖ Develop skills such as engineering design, project management, programming, teamwork, and strategic thinking

❖ Qualify for over $80+ million in college scholarships
