HEART Inc was founded in 1971 by Wally Arntzen. To this day HEART Inc. remains a nonprofit devoted to empowering the recovery community. For 41 years, HEART Inc. Help Enable Alcoholics and Addicts Receive Treatment by providing funding to more than a quarter million people on their journey to sobriety. For many who begin their recovery from chemical dependency, sobriety wouldn’t be possible without the support of family and friends. But encouragement and determination aren’t the only requirements for the journey. All too often, money is the final obstacle.

HEART Inc helps by paying partial treatment costs at one of our affiliated treatment centers when an individual is not adequately covered by insurance or public assistance. We can provide assistance for one month of care in sober housing. We support living expenses including shelter costs, utilities, food and child-care if these family needs may otherwise force the client to leave treatment. We aid in medical, dental and optometry costs if such needs are interfering with a client’s ability to participate fully in the recovery process. Often we provide support for family treatment, transportation and/or room and board for a client’s family to participate in the program, which is often an integral part of recovery that can help the whole family heal.

Heart Inc neither seeks no receives public or government funds. Our funding sources are donations from individuals, foundations, corporations, bequests and memorials. All of our donations come from those people who open their heart to HEART Inc.
