Our goal is to alleviate the lives of blind individuals in Africa and sub-Saharan Africa thru research, education and economic empowerment.


The focus will be given to identify the problems which are hindering progress of blind persons and offer solutions through educational and vocational rehabilitation trainings; to mitigate the fear and misconceptions about blindness and restored the dignity and pride of blind persons in their communities.

The areas of operation and services delivery for Helen Keller institute for the blind are intended to be in three regions of Africa. 1. South Sudan, East Africa region, its branch location will be situated in Somalia. 2. West region is in Liberia and its branch will be placed in Ghana. 3. Central Africa region, located in the Central republic of chad where its branch will be established in Democratic republic of Congo; subsequently, Northern Africa, Middle East and South America will eventually follow suit.

Thus, Helen Keller institute will offer its supplies and services in the following areas: Academic and vocational trainings; workshop and seminars; conventions and scholarships; industrial arts and farming; adaptive computers, scanners, open book software; Braille printers, literatures in audio, braille books, braille papers etc. Hence, Helen Keller’s institute will dedicate its efforts to seek and collect some educational related materials and monetary support from the good will people, charitable and none charitable agencies. Yes, Helen Keller’s fellowship will be a new driving force to motivate and gives blind people light, confidence, and an ultimate freedom to lead a meaningful productive life.
