ABOUT HBCU FIRST


HBCU First is a student-led community advancing the overall wellbeing and economic participation of America's Black youth.

As the leading HBCU internship and mentoring academy, we empower elite HBCU students — from 70+ Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) — with in-demand, college-to-career skills.

Each year, HBCU First awards hundreds of college students paid internships and produces 200 student development sessions.

80% of our program participants gain internships, jobs, or grad school admission within 6 months.

Since being established in late 2019, we have accomplished the following:

• 1000+ HBCU students have completed our program,

• $700,000+ in cash stipends paid directly to students,

• 600+ executive from best-in-class companies have spoken at our sessions,

• 200+ student development sessions produced & hosted per year,

• 70+ partner HBCUs are in our network


67% OF GROSS RECEIPTS ARE PAID DIRECTLY TO STUDENTS IN CASH.
