Hastings Band Boosters

OUR PURPOSE

Hastings Band Boosters provide continued support to Hastings, MN Public Schools (ISD 200) band programs, which includes grades 5 through 12.

Our group works in cooperation with band directors and school administrators to support band curricular needs through the purchase of supplies, support for performances and guest instructors, instrument repairs, and educational trips (sanctioned and approved by the school).

Strong music programs like ours are vital to students, families, and the community of Hastings. The Hastings School District's music program is a Minnesota Exemplary Music Program award recipient and was named one of NAMM's "Best Communities for Music Education" in 2021, 2022 and 2023. In addition, the Hastings High School Marching Raiders have been named Minnesota State Marching Band Champions in their class seven times since 2012.

From concert band to wind ensemble to jazz band to marching band, Hastings bands provide students with opportunities to make music, collaborate, learn, and have fun together. Band participation fosters cooperation as a team, bonding through shared goals and enhancement of community pride.

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

We ask for your financial support to maintain our strong band programs here in Hastings at the middle school and high school. Because the purchase or rental of instruments can be a major stumbling block to students starting or continuing in music programs, we strive to provide a number of high quality & durable school-owned instruments that can be rented at little to no cost.

40-44% of our band students (grades 5-12) rely on the availability of school-owned instruments. However, quality band instruments are long-term investments requiring regular cleaning and maintenance for continued playability, and we want to preserve these resources to make sure these students have the best experience possible!

By ‘Adopting’ an instrument in need of maintenance and repair or making a donation to assist in the purchase of new instruments and equipment to replace those that have reached the end of their usefulness, your donation will help Hastings Band Boosters raise critical funds to continue our meaningful work: fostering music education and allowing band participation to be accessible to all students of Hastings.

We are so grateful for your support!
