Hastings Band Boosters

OUR PURPOSE

Hastings Band Boosters provide continued support to the Hastings Schools band programs through:

• Promoting Hastings, MN school band programs
• Working in cooperation with band directors and administrators at Hastings schools
• Supporting educational trips, exchange programs and concerts sanctioned and approved by the school
• Actively bolstering all phases of student and band fundraising 

We ask for your financial support to maintain our strong band programs here in Hastings - at the middle school and high school - by making a donation to assist in the purchase and maintenance of new instruments and equipment.  Whether your donation is $5 or $500, it will help Hastings Band Boosters raise critical funds to support high-quality Hastings band programs with select new instruments and/or equipment.

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

The Hastings School District's music program is a Minnesota Exemplary Music Program award recipient and named one of NAMM's "Best Communities for Music Education" in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Strong music programs are vital to students, families, and our community. From concert band to jazz band to marching band... Hastings bands provide students with opportunities to make music, learn and have fun together. Band participation fosters cooperation and togetherness through shared goals, and enhances community pride.

Because the purchase or rental of instruments can be major stumbling blocks to students starting or continuing in music programs, we strive to provide a number of high quality & durable school-owned instruments and equipment. School-owned instruments allow interested students to participate in band; but, they are expensive long-term investments requiring regular cleaning and maintenance.

For example, new instrument and equipment purchases:

• Allow students to participate in the Jazz program if they do not play a jazz instrument as their primary instrument i.e. extending learning with an alternate instrument
• Provide instruments for student use, if their personal instrument is being repaired
• Enhance our bands with specialty instruments, such as French horn or bass clarinet
• Allow for retirement of older instruments that have worn out or reached the end of their life
