Hamel Athletic Club (Hamel Baseball)

The Hamel Athletic Club (Hamel Baseball) has been a vibrant cornerstone of our community since its founding in 1926. We have proudly watched our program flourish, growing from serving 300 young athletes in 2008 to supporting over 1,000 as of 2025.

Our mission is to provide youth in the City of Medina and surrounding communities with a quality baseball program that promotes essential life skills and a lifelong love for the game. We are dedicated to creating a positive, safe, and enriching environment where every player can thrive.

Our philosophy emphasizes five core pillars:

• Joy & Fun: Inspiring children to enjoy every moment on the field, fostering a passion for baseball that lasts a lifetime.

• Skill Development: Teaching age-appropriate baseball skills, focusing on fundamentals and strategy so players learn to play the game "the right way."

• Respect: Instilling deep respect for the game, coaches, teammates, umpires, opponents, and spectators.

• Teamwork & Self-Esteem: Highlighting that every player's contribution is vital, building self-confidence and a collaborative spirit.

• Sportsmanship: Cultivating gracious winners and resilient competitors, teaching players to handle both success and defeat with integrity.

Hamel Athletic Club is led entirely by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors. We are proud to be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization, granted this status by the IRS in 2010.

While our program is primarily sustained by player registration fees and the generous support of local businesses through team and capital sponsorships, the continued excellence of our facilities relies on charitable giving.

Invest in Our Fields, Invest in Our Future

100% of all charitable donations are directly dedicated to the continued improvement and maintenance of the City of Medina's ballfields and facilities.

Over the past five years, we have strategically invested over $1 million into the ballfields at Hamel Legion Park to ensure a top-tier playing experience. Major projects made possible by this investment include:

• The installation of LED lights on two fields.

• The conversion of two fields to professional grass infields.

• Two new scoreboards.

• New batting cages and bullpens.

• New dugouts and improved safety fencing.

We are also excited to announce the opening of our new, 235-seat grandstand during the 2024 season! This landmark project is being funded through donations to Hamel Athletic Club and financing assistance from Farmers State Bank of Hamel.
