Greater Frogtown CDC is a nonprofit housing and business developer working in the Frogtown neighborhood of Saint Paul.


Mission

Greater Frogtown Community Development Corporation (GFCDC) was created in 1995, to address the housing crisis in the community. GFCDC has constructed new single family and multi-family dweelings, and created five loan programs to assist low to moderate-income people to repair their homes or landlord's to repair rental property. GFCDC has also partnered with other non-profits such as Habitat for Humanity to increase the production of affordable in the neighborhood.

Programs

Greater Frogtown Community Development Corporation operates several key programs: Housing Development, Rehab Lending, Economic Development and Community Building. Housing Development works to create affordable home ownership opportunities for low to moderate-income people. Through this program GFCDC constructs new homes on scattered vacant sites throughout the community. GFCDC rehabs vacant housing that is sold to owner occupants. GFCDC is also working in collaboration to develop a mixed use building with senior rental housing and retail space, along with town homes along Dale Street. GFCDC operates 5 rehab lending programs that works with both owners and rental to make needed repairs to properties. The funds are part loan and grant for each program and serve a wide range of incomes. GFCDC works with business owners along Dale Street to make facade improvements to their businesses. Finally, we work with neigborhood residents to build community pride and develop plans for the community.
