The Great Northern Festival celebrates our cold, creative winters with 10 days of programming that invigorates the mind, body, and spirit.
Our 2022 festival line-up (Jan. 27 - Feb. 6) will feature programming that exists at the intersection of climate, art, and the outdoors. Through world premiere performances, site-specific art, films, regional craft, commissioned writing, food events, and outdoor activations, The Great Northern makes the depths of winter a time of year to eagerly anticipate.
This year’s festival is the most ambitious one yet, and we need your help to make it a success! Your contribution will allow The Great Northern to continue seeking new perspectives on the elements that make this region unique while highlighting what we stand to lose if our climate continues to warm.
PS: Check out our Instagram page for information about a fantastic giveaway to get you excited for winter! It includes a weekend stay at Renaissance Hotel, a gorgeous limited-run blanket from Faribault Woolen Mills designed by Dyani White Hawk, four tickets to our Lunar New Year celebration with Minnesota Orchestra, a $100 Caribou gift card, and a signed copy of Michael Kleber-Diggs’ Worldly Things from Milkweed Press.
Stay tuned for a big programming announcement on November 15!
