True North Goodwill

You are probably familiar with our retail stores and donation centers; however, our true focus is on transforming lives for generations through learning and the power of work. With our mission services programs and career navigation centers we provide people with the skills and training to overcome barriers to employment and gain stronger independence. 

Common barriers to employment include disability, lack of childcare, past justice involvement, limited education, and chemical dependency. Our vision is that all people have the opportunity to achieve success in their pursuit of work, independence, and a greater quality of life. 

Founded in Duluth, MN in 1919 as the 10th ever Goodwill organization in the world, we have over a 100-year history of workforce development. We currently operate 11 locations across Northern Minnesota and Northeastern Wisconsin, providing employment services to hundreds of people and supporting nearly 300 local jobs. 

Each year, through our recycling and salvage programs, we keep millions of pounds of clothing and household items out of landfills, creating a more sustainable future for generations to come. As a nonprofit social enterprise our main goal is to promote the long-term well-being of the people and communities we serve.
