GoodSports SK, Inc.

For the body, sport

For the spirit, hope

GoodSports SK is a 501(c)(3) faith-based nonprofit empowering youth and families in Slovakia (SK) through sports, camps, and cultural events.  Led by Tom Johnson, our CEO/Executive Minister (and former MLB Minnesota Twins pitcher), we proudly fund and partner with the SK nonprofit GoodSports International Slovensko to fulfill this mission. We invite you to invest in the lives of children and youth in Slovakia. Donate directly to GoodSports SK at https://www.GoodSportsSK.org; all donations are tax-deductible.

Since 1994, GoodSports has been making a difference in the lives of youth and young families in Slovakia. Through physical, educational and inspirational experiences, young people are given options often unavailable elsewhere. For some it means a chance to develop leadership skills while others grow in English proficiency, greatly broadening opportunities as they approach adulthood.

Tom and Debbie Johnson direct the program in Slovakia, which has two locations, Devinska Nova Ves/Bratislava and Prievidza/central Slovakia.  Baseball has played an important role in the program from the early days of GoodSports. Two baseball fields were recently built through a partnership with a local baseball club and GoodSports in Slovakia. Summer camps, tournaments and other special events complement daily after-school and weekend programs. Values/faith-based programs for youth and families is new in Slovakia, and making GoodSports affordable (usually free) clearly sets it apart. Four full-time Slovak staff work with a team of volunteers (including some parents) to provide a family atmosphere for participating youth.

At GoodSports SK, we see value in everyone. We seek to be a catalyst of positive change for all we serve, beginning with ourselves. We are driven by the same values that initially founded the non-profit organization in 1994: Fun, Learn, Respect, Inspiration.

We deeply appreciate your support!
