FSC works with forest woodland owners to become certified in the FSC forest management standard.  We support market demand for this wood by certifying manufacturers and distributors to sell FSC certified products.

The Forest Stewardship Council mission is to promote environmentally sound, socially beneficial and economically prosperous management of the world's forests.

How will your donation to the Forest Stewardship Council make a difference?

• In the US nearly 50% of raw wood materials come from family-owned forestland but only 1% of this land is FSC certified.  Your gift will help us expand our reach to family forestland owners and work with them to become FSC certified.
• Nearly everyone in the word recognizes the swoosh, the apple, and the golden M, but brand recognition of FSC hovers around 6%.  Your gift will help us implement marketing strategies that will make the FSC brand a powerful tool in identifying responsible forest management for manufacturers and consumers.
• Connecting consumers to FSC certified products is critical for growing the demand for responsibly managed forests.  Over 100,000 products carry the FSC certification but we need to develop tools to make it easier for consumers to locate them.  Your gift will help us develop consumer-facing tools that make it easy for you to protect forests with your purchasing power.
