Our goal for Colorado Gives Day is to strengthen our Wildlife Law Program so we can take on more high-impact cases to defend wildlife. 

Protecting wildlife, from courtrooms to cafeterias

• Leading legal advocacy for wild horses — we have brought and won several cases securing their freedom and habitat.
• Safeguarding endangered species, from African elephants and scarlet macaws to beluga whales.
• Advocating to protect public lands from drilling and extractive industries— from national parks, wildlife refuge lands, roadless areas, and old-growth forests.
• Defending migratory birds 
• Promoting vegan advocacy to reform school meals in the National School Lunch Program and Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
• Challenging factory fish farming in our oceans — our legal persistence keeps Gulf federal waters wild and free from industrial aquaculture.

Our actions in Colorado

• Protecting Colorado’s pollinators: We filed a lawsuit to secure full protections under the Endangered Species Act for the silverspot butterfly and its critical mountain habitat before it’s too late.
• Fighting for fair public access that respects both people and wildlife in State Wildlife Areas.
• Protecting wild horses: Advocating since 2013 for their right to live freely on public lands.
• Speaking up for apex predators: We intervened to ensure Colorado's Gray wolf reintroduction progressed and remain committed to ensuring non-lethal management strategies remain a priority for apex predators.
• Revitalizing Denver’s parks and the South Platte River: This year, our Colorado Cleanup Crew removed 7,251 gallons of debris, supporting cleaner water, healthier ecosystems, and public health.
