The Friends of the Isanti Area Library was founded in 2009 by a group of amazing people who wanted to bring a library to Isanti, and they did it! We continue to help support our ECRL Isanti Outreach Library that is open Wednesdays from 11 am to 3 pm at the Isanti City Hall and advocate its importance in our community. All your donations are tax deductible.
What we do
We are a small nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that supports a variety of Library, learning, and literacy initiatives. Most importantly, we raise community awareness by representing the Isanti Outreach Library in our community and encourage its use. We also raise funds that help support our Outreach Library and other special literacy projects, advocate for strong library support, and share knowledge and expertise to strengthen libraries and library organizations everywhere.
Some of the fun things we do:
- “Recycle” books back into our community with our annual used book sale in October
- Build and maintain free Give ‘n’ Take book boxes at sponsors’ homes and businesses
- Read aloud to kids (of all ages) in the community at various events throughout the year
- Collect used books, DVDs, audiobooks, and related items to sell or give away
- Participate in events like Expos, parades, and other community happenings

We cannot grow our Outreach Library without you. Please help us continue in our mission by giving as generously as you are able. Every dollar you donate during Give to the Max Day or any time is tax deductible and used to support the library in becoming a timeless educational resource for our community.
And visit our Outreach Library often! It’s open Wednesdays from 11 am to 3 pm at the Isanti City Hall. You are welcome to order items in advance from the ECRL website or by calling the Cambridge Library and pick them up in Isanti, too.
We also greatly need and value volunteer help at various community events and even from your own home, and we are actively seeking new members to have fun with. Interested adults are always welcome to attend our monthly planning sessions.
