Friends of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Inc

Friends of the Apostle Islands is the official philanthropic partner of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Our mission is to promote an appreciation for, and preservation of, the natural environment and cultural heritage of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Since 2002, we have exceeded $500,000 of direct donations to the park, funds that have helped pay for things like an all-accessible amphitheater at Stockton Island to make it possible for even those with mobility challenges to attend ranger talks, the rehabilitation of historic structures such as the Raspberry Island boathouse and the Manitou Island Fish Camp, supported access to the island for local school kids through the Island School program, and much more. Recently, our efforts have been recognized with the 2021 Lake Superior Achievement Award for “contributing significantly to the well-being of Lake Superior and its peoples.”
