Friends of Lake Nokomis

The Friends of Lake Nokomis is a non-profit stewardship and advocacy group that works with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board to identify and remove invasive species, monitor restoration projects  and advocate for clean water and a healthy lake.

We’ve been removing buckthorn and garlic mustard since 2009 with our fellow friends of the lake and began sponsoring a popular summer yoga series in 2013. With no paid staff, we rely upon our dedicated volunteers to help us be good stewards of this beautiful urban park. Join us!
