Help transform the lives of children in North Minneapolis through education

Ascension Catholic School, one of four schools that make up Ascension Catholic Academy, has been a beacon of hope on the North Side of Minneapolis for more than a century. Today, in a community where the achievement gap is the most pronounced in the country, our scholars have made tremendous academic gains.  Ascension gives children grade K-8 a path toward success in high school and pointed toward post-secondary education.

Who We Serve

  • 313 scholars in grades K-8.
  • 81% qualify for free or reduced lunch.
  • 96% are children of color.
  • 15% are Catholic.

No Scholar is Turned Away

We set our tuition well below our cost of educating each child. We work with families to make this transformational education affordable and available to all who desire it. Generous donors like you who support Catholic education provide 95 percent our revenue, allowing us to provide financial aid grants to our scholars.

Individualized Learning Plans and Social-Emotional Learning

Teachers and staff are working as a team with scholars and families to develop individualized learning plans that set academic goals AND social/ emotional educational goals. Teachers are supported in achieving these goals with observation, feedback and 1:1 coaching. Wellness will be a key goal for scholars and staff.

SLAM Summer Program

Scholars from all four Ascension Catholic Academy schools come together for Super Summer Language and Math (SLAM), a six-week program aimed at combating summer slide and providing a safe, enriching experience for scholars and peace of mind for their families.

THANK YOU!
