The Forgotten Initiative

The Forgotten Initiative (TFI) is a ministry dedicated to helping churches support foster care agencies across America. The foster care system serves more than half a million children annually, with each child assigned a caseworker responsible for overseeing their safety and well-being. However, caseworkers face high rates of burnout, with an average tenure of 2.5 years, which impacts the quality of care provided to children. To truly care for children and families, we must ensure that caseworkers receive the physical, relational, and spiritual support they need to sustain their roles.

Well-supported caseworkers are better equipped to serve children, leading to better outcomes for everyone involved. We desire to see every caseworker supported by local churches faithfully reflecting the redemptive love of Christ.
