This past year we slowed down our intake due to the amount of dogs living at Family Fido.  We did take in two moms and litters of puppies.

💛 TAYLOR’S JOURNEY 💛

Taylor didn’t arrive alone — she came carrying the biggest responsibility of her life: an entire litter of seven puppies depending solely on her. If we didn't say yes, she would have had the puppies outside...in the cold.

But this year, everything changed for her.

When Taylor and her pups arrived at Forever Fido Puppy Rescue, they finally got:

A warm, quiet space to decompress
High-quality food for Taylor to keep up with nursing
Daily health monitoring for the pups
Early socialization and Puppy Culture foundations
Vet care, vaccines, deworming, and microchips
Safe handling, enrichment, and age-appropriate activities
A foster team who adored them

We watched Taylor go from a momma caring for her puppies…to relaxed, healthy, and finally able to just be a dog again.

We watched her puppies grow into confident, social, well-rounded little dogs — all because supporters like you made it possible.

💛 SAISON’S HEARTWORM JOURNEY 💛

We first saw Saison on a Facebook group. She was living outside with her eight puppies, and there was an urgent plea to find her a rescue. Saison had been killing the chickens on the farm, and the family caring for her couldn’t place her or the puppies, so they needed to leave as soon as possible. Saison had originally arrived as a stray and was already very pregnant.

When Saison first arrived to Forever Fido Puppy Rescue, she had her litter of puppies, once they were weaned and we took her in to get spayed, we quickly learned she was heartworm-positive. She had likely carried the disease for months without anyone noticing, and her young body was already feeling the effects. The news was heartbreaking — but we were determined to give her the chance she deserved.

This year, Saison’s life completely changed.

She completed the entire, difficult heartworm protocol:• The initial medications• The strict activity restrictions• The injections• The crate rest (which she hated at times, but she did it!)• The follow-up care that kept her safe• Quiet enrichment to keep her mind busy when her body had to rest

Through all of it, Saison stayed sweet, trusting, and incredibly brave.

And because of our incredible supporters, every piece of her treatment — from diagnostics to medication to recovery supplies — was made possible.

Now, as we look back on the year, we’re asking for help to finish covering her medical costs and refill our heartworm fund so we can help the next dog who comes through our doors with the same diagnosis.

Saison is here today — healthy, safe, and full of life — because of all of you.
