Folk Will Save Us

At Folk Will Save Us, we believe culture is a readily available partner in building a resilient, equitable, just, and integrated society. We understand the critical role artists rooted in cultural traditions play in providing spaces where communities can make sense of the world on their own terms and address the issues at the core of collective health. Our work seeks to bring communities together around the experience of learning and leaning into roots, and build power and resources for the culturally rooted artists doing this critical healing work on behalf of their communities. 

This Give to the Max Day, we hope you will support our work bringing community together around the experience of learning and leaning into roots, and our work building resources to uplift the critical work artists rooted in cultural traditions are doing on the front lines of community building, healing, and repair. Through current programs like the Folk Will Save Us Podcast, Longfellow Village Band, and Klezmer on Ice, and upcoming programs like the MN Folk Art Fellows and Mid-Career Culture Workers Collaborative, we envision a future where all people in Minnesota experience belonging, connection, and joy through spaces that nourish cultural self-determination.
