First Witness Child Advocacy Center

Now through the end of 2023, each gift for the Restoring Hope Capital Campaign will be tripled through a matching gift by Todd & Susan Johnson!

First Witness Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is a non-profit agency offering hope and healing for alleged victims of child abuse and their families. 

St. Louis County responded to the needs of our community and founded First Witness, which has been serving children and families in St. Louis, Carlton, Lake, Cook, and other counties across Minnesota for almost 30 years. 

First Witness has a bold vision that we can all get behind – a vision of a society that supports children and ends child abuse. Having expanded greatly over the years in response to the needs of our community, First Witness has reached the limits of the capacity of our current building and will be moving into a new home with space to expand further. 

Our Restoring Hope Campaign will fund our new home that is specifically designed to better respond to the needs of the children and families we serve. The new space will bring services and professionals together on one site to provide the best experience possible for the child and will be a place where children and non-offending family can have privacy and feel protected throughout the process. It will also become the permanent home of our national training center where advocates, forensic interviewers, law enforcement, child protection workers, attorneys, and community members will receive education in prevention, child-centered advocacy, and forensic interviews. 

We are committed to working with our community in a mission that strengthens our response to child abuse while propelling a vision for a future that ends child abuse, supports children and nurtures resilience.    

Todd and Susan Johnson have also established an incredibly generous $500,000 matching gift, so every dollar donated here through the end of 2023 will be tripled!
